Mac, Kelli
Kelli Mac’s work ranges from expressionist figurative work through to interpretive and semi realistic landscapes and seascapes. Her intentional exaggeration of tone and colour creates strong visual impact keeping the work fresh and exciting. Her trademark free brush strokes maintain the spontaneity. “I usually work on several pieces concurrently and this collection of works puts together a story about Australian people and the places they love”.
Artist Statement
Themes include the bustle and energy of our local markets and the serenity and solitude of our natural environment. My influences are first and foremost everything I see, feel and experience, but I've always loved the early Australian artists especially Tom Roberts and Fredrick McCubbin from the Heidelberg school.
