Martin Galleries is proud to present Martin Edge a fast emerging artist and his first solo exhibition “Still having fun”.
Martin Edge was first shown at Martin Galleries in “Undiscovered Artists #2” in 2009; his work was very well received. Martin participated in a number of shows as well as painting onsite at ‘artists on the sidewalk’ an initiative of Martin Galleries designed to bring live art to the people.
Martins’ sense of fun has not dimmed and his work reflects his positive attitude clearly, his works are celebrations of our world – small slices that document the urban landscape.
Entering the prestigious “Blake Prize” Martin was selected as a finalist and his work is now touring with selected works of the “Blake Prize” throughout Australia. His selection in the ‘Blake Prize’ brought him to the attention of another naive artist resulting in Martin being commissioned to create a piece especially for Ken Done.
2010 saw Martin secure a finalist position in the Stanthorpe Art prize against over 1000 applicants, proving that Martin Edge is on the way to success.
