creativity and marginality
(30th of June 2010 - 25th of July 2010) Opening 8th of July 2010
Description
Christopher’s work is autobiographical; selecting subjects that are meaningful gives Christopher the opportunity to develop vibrant expressive artworks that reflect his infectious personality. Christopher’s approach to his art practice is an energetic blend of chaotic mark making combined with an uncanny ability to create unique colour selections that to the outside observer appear random, he then synthesizes this chaos into a wildly expressive artwork that pulsates.
Martin Galleries is proud to present Christopher Townsley’s first solo exhibition. Chris was diagnosed with Cerebal Palsy at birth but has enjoyed the creative journey of an artist since 2004 going from strength to strength as he developed his own language of marks and elaborate composition, you have to see this work in person to fully appreciate his story.
