Daintree Waterhole (Emmagen Creek)
The Daintree is the oldest living rainforest in the world and it feeds this wonderful creek, I was transfixed by the quiet whispers and gulps as the water flowed over my feet. I had to paint this, I had to capture something of its healing power. The bright reflections of the sky beyond the dark green forest canopy produces a wonderful lightshow of patterns on the waters surface. I truly hope that what I have painted gives you even some of the peace that I experienced ankle deep in that crystal clear water. I worked tirelessly over four weeks using so many transparent layers of acrylic paints to create this beautiful scene, the countless layers give the sense of depth and each will fluoresce under different light sources. I’m proud of my reputation of painting some of the wettest water on canvas, please enjoy all the quiet and soothing moments I have created for you.
Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
