Red Heart is inspired by my travels through the Australian landscape, I recreate views that are rarely seen. Red Heart is full of energy and tells the story of lost cattle seeking the cool shadows of the heavily eroded dry creek. My hope is that 'Red Heart' inspires the imaginations of those who see it, to transport them through time and space as if they are weightlessly hovering over the scene. Red Heart is a proud rendering of the outback in a way that is rarely seen, my transparent layers are built up to create the effect of colour, rather than mixing opaque colours. My paintings are constructed as compositions and are generally not actual places, rather, they are an amalgamation of experiences and imaginings.
