Thirsty cows drawn to the water in an arid environment.
To better narrate the story, I use cows, rocks, trees and creeks as compositional elements. This work is loosely based on the Fibonacci sequence, using that balance I find it better explores and facilitates emotional response and standpoint.
The intense red of outback soil is better described from an aerial perspective, working from memory I reconstruct the feeling of being there. I have long been fascinated with the colour of shadows. Not only do they give a sense of authenticity, but they carefully ground the elements of the painting. My works are all identifiable by my use of multiple transparent layers to create the sense of colour without actually mixing it.
