I had to paint this, I had to capture something of its healing power. The bright reflections of the sky beyond the dark green forest canopy produces a wonderful lightshow of patterns on the water’s surface. The Daintree is the oldest living rainforest in the world and it feeds this wonderful creek, I was transfixed by the quiet whispers and gulps as the water flowed over my feet. I had to paint this, I had to capture something of its healing power. Watercolours have capacity to capture the softness of water which is why I used them for this quiet moment.
